Organization at a glance

Shakhipur Upazila Protibandhi Kallyan Somiti is a Persons with Disabilities (OPD) operating in the Tangail district of Bangladesh. Founded in 1995 by Mr. Ekabbor Hossain, Mr. Abdur Razzak, Mr. Abdul Baset, and several other individuals with disabilities, the organization was established in response to the prevalent issues of negligence, discrimination, and inequality faced by persons with disabilities.

Driven by a shared vision for change, these founders convened a pivotal meeting with local persons with disabilities on May 7, 1995, in the Shakhipur sub-district. This gathering marked the beginning of a concerted effort to improve the lives of the disabled community. As a result of this meeting and with unanimous support, the "Shakhipur Upazila Protibandhi Kallyan Samiti" was officially formed, spearheaded by a proposal from Mr. Ekabbor Hossain.
